Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) is committed to cultivating a digital culture among its students, encouraging active engagement with digital platforms for educational purposes. All RP colleges are equipped with high-speed internet via Smart Education bandwidth and fiber optic connections, ensuring reliable access for students and staff. Furthermore, each campus offers numerous smart classrooms and computer labs, furnished with a variety of learning software. RP provides a wide array of digital platforms tailored to diverse student needs.
RP’s eLearning platform is a vital resource for both students and instructors, offering an extensive selection of digital learning materials, including online courses, virtual classrooms, interactive modules, and multimedia tools. These resources enable students to access educational content anytime and anywhere, with interactive elements like videos, quizzes, forums, and other features enriching the learning experience. Since its launch in 2020, the eLearning platform has supported the creation of 7,673 courses and currently engages 13,003 active users. The platform's capabilities are further enhanced by integration with EON-XR for augmented and virtual reality experiences, along with a partnership with Microsoft, promoting ICT skills across the RP student body. The eLogbook system is a dedicated tool that enhances student administration and reporting, specifically for tracking students’ industrial attachments and progress. This platform strengthens communication between RP’s academic institutions and industry partners, creating a seamless experience for students in practical training settings. RP’s MIS is a comprehensive tool for managing academic services and administrative processes throughout all RP colleges. It significantly improves daily operations, reporting, and decision-making processes for RP stakeholders, featuring modules for: 1. Program applications 2. Registration for new and returning students, including automated fee management 3. Academic marks management and publication 4. Student management for academic deliberation (promotion, repetition) 5. Data reporting on student status (dropouts, suspensions, postponements) 6. Inter-system data integration 7. Online student clearance 8. Marks processing for academic documentation 9. Our students have access to Office 365, which provides them with a full suite of Microsoft products and tools. Each student is assigned a unique ID, in the format of their registration number followed by @stud.rp.ac.rw, which allows them to log in to all digital platforms within RP. This includes resources like eLearning, the eLogbook, the Management Information System (MIS), and more.
